FUNCTION
Under the general direction of the Director of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate public health initiatives for topics including, but not limited to, injury prevention and chronic disease prevention. Ability to apply the population-based policy, systems, and environmental change concepts to strategies as necessary.

Knowledge of: Health education theories & techniques; public relations; risk communication; social media; group process and facilitation
Ability to: Define problems; collect data; engage groups and individuals; build alliances among community members willing to work together to improve and promote healthy lifestyles and work toward eliminating health inequities; communicate in written and oral form; prepare concise and accurate reports; deal with many variables and determine specific actions; handle sensitive inquiries from officials and general public
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, health promotion, or other related fields
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certificate.
Work Environment: Requires some travel. Some early morning, evening, and weekend assignments may be required.
SALARY: $28.04-$35.78/hour
