Under the general direction of the Director of Environmental Health, the Environmental Health Specialist-in Training/Registered Environmental Health Specialist will work in the community to prevent disease through working in Environmental Health Programs. Occasional weekend or evening work will be required.

Lorain County Public Health is seeking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the School Health Program. This position provides direct nursing care to students and staff in a school clinic setting during an academic school year. The nurse will function within their scope of practice and under the direction of the School Nurse Supervisor.
Under the supervision of the WIC Director, Nutrition Supervisor, or Health Commissioner, assists with certification/recertification of the WIC participants; provides them with nutrition education either individually or in-group sessions.
: Lorain County Public Health is looking for college students interested in preventing mosquito & tick-borne illnesses within Lorain County and/or conducting water quality activities in the watersheds related to household sewage treatment systems, private water systems, and bathing beaches. A student pursuing a Biology, Environmental Health/Science, or Public Health degree is preferred.
