DESCRIPTION: Seasonal Intern, Health Promotion & Chronic Disease Prevention Department
FUNCTION
Under the general direction of the Director of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention, is responsible for fieldwork with a focus on health planning.
JOB DUTIES
MAJOR WORK CHARACTERISTICS
Planning Interns are required to be actively pursuing either a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Regional and/or Urban Planning, Public Health, or a degree in a related field as a condition of employment. Prior planning, development, urban design, community development, or other related experience (professional, volunteer, student, etc.) is useful but is not required. Successful candidates also have prior experience in an office environment and/or prior experience with GIS, graphic/rendering software, report writing, customer service, and/or project management.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires travel; some early morning, evening and weekend assignments may be required.
MINIMUM CLASS REQUIREMENT (including license, if any.)
Completion of secondary education, or equivalent; must possess a valid driver’s license; must possess current state minimum automobile liability coverage.
SALARY: $11.00/hour
