Under direction of the Director of Community Health, Nursing Supervisor, other managing nurse or managerial authority, the LPN or RN will be responsible for providing substitute nursing services in a school setting, functioning within the nursing scope of practice.
1. Follows the Licensed Practical Nurse Scope and Standards of Practice as outlined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and Ohio Revised Code, Section 4723.01 (F)
2. Follow the Registered Nurse Scope and Standards of Practice as outlined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and Ohio Revised Code, Section 4723.01 (B)
3. Proven skills in direct clinical care for all school age children, including those with health disparities and disabilities. Ability to follow Physician’s orders and Registered Nursing instruction and guidance.
4. Efficiency expected in oral, written and electronic communication and documentation of student’s response to plan of care, maintaining student confidentiality as guided by HIPPA and FERPA.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires travel, flexibility and short notice for assignments in a school setting within academic calendar/school day.
MINIMUM CLASS REQUIREMENT (including license, if any)
Must hold a current LPN or RN license in the State of Ohio, 3 years of experience preferred.
