This Program Manager position is for an experienced, motivated leader who is passionate about Environmental Health programming and committed to continuous quality improvement. Requirements: Possession of a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Health or related field. Must be a Registered Sanitarian and hold a current license as a Lead Risk Assessor for the State of Ohio.
FUNCTION
Under general direction of the Director of Environmental Health, oversees and coordinates the functioning of multiple Environmental Health programs; interprets codes and regulations; assists in budget preparation and program policy development; investigates health hazard complaints; maintains field district responsibilities; performs other duties as required. Program focus includes, but is not limited to: Lead, Healthy Homes, and Vector Control.
JOB DUTIES
Provide oversight of Environmental Health programs to ensure minimum program standards are being met
Develop electronic tracking systems for all applicable programs
Provide oversight and guidance to Environmental Health administrative staff to ensure that licensing/permitting, state certification transmittals, etc. are conducted according to required timeframes
Develop written Standard Operating Guidelines for all Environmental Health programs to ensure that all programming complies with laws and regulations, striving for consistency and quality improvement
In conjunction with the Director/Supervisor, review staff field work for content and quality
Provide oversight of agency website content to ensure that all Environmental Health programs, and their respective applications, are included and available electronically
Trains and mentors employees, including seasonal interns
Confers with the Director/Supervisor in the development of programs and procedures
Reports to the Director/Supervisor on a regular basis regarding environmental programs and related matters
Works with public officials, civic, and professional groups to promote and improve environmental health programs
Work with other internal agency divisions for program collaboration and support
Assist in the preparation of departmental budgeting, where applicable
Performs other related and assigned work as required

Ability to: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; adapt environmental health programs based upon data and community needs, maintain accurate records; communicate effectively in written or oral form; prepare concise and accurate reports, handle sensitive inquiries from officials and the general public, establish self as a leader amongst peers through a positive attitude and mentoring.
